What is a wahenga.comment?
wahenga.comments are short opinion pieces of no more than 500 words on topical or controversial issues concerning hunger and vulnerability in southern Africa. They are intended to stimulate interest, build awareness and generally draw attention to issues around food insecurity and vulnerability in southern Africa. wahenga.net will provide the platform for targeted groups to express their views and raise their concerns about responses to hunger and vulnerability.

Guidelines
In order to get you started, we have developed some guidelines that you may find helpful:

• If you're involved in policy review or project implementation: you could share your views on implications of policy responses and approaches to addressing food security, hunger and vulnerability.
• If you're a researcher: you could give your opinion on work being done to address similar issues within the region or elsewhere
• If you're involved with civil society or grassroots initiatives: you could share your opinions about the impact of responses to food insecurity, hunger and vulnerability from a local perspective.

Basic criteria for contributions:

• The Comment should be no more than 500 words
• It should be written in a spirit of open debate and discussion, with disagreements expressed without attacking people or organisations
• You will need to provide a valid email address, which can be excluded from the comments on request
